On August 29, 2019, the Champions League group stage draw took place, determining the teams that would face each other in the competition.

Among the teams drawn were Liverpool, who will face Napoli, Salzburg, and Genk in their group.

Manchester City, the Premier League champions, were drawn alongside Shakhtar Donetsk, Dinamo Zagreb, and Atalanta.

Tottenham, last year's runners-up, will face Bayern Munich, Olympiakos, and Red Star Belgrade in their group.

Chelsea must navigate a group including Ajax, Valencia, and Lille.

European heavyweights Paris St-Germain and Real Madrid were drawn together in Group A, while former winners Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, and Inter Milan will meet in Group F.

The group stage begins on September 17, 2019, and the final will take place on May 30, 2020, at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul.
