Seventeen-year-old Caty McNally made history at the 2019 US Open, pushing tennis legend Serena Williams to a thrilling second set in their second-round match.

McNally, from Madeira, Ohio, a Cincinnati suburb, won the first set 7-5, taking advantage of Williams's unforced errors, which totaled 15 in the opening set.

Williams, 37, praised McNally's playing style, saying, 'You don't play players like her who have such full games. I just think she over all played really well.'

However, Williams rallied in the second set, breaking McNally's serve for the first time in the sixth game, and went on to win the set 6-3.

Williams then dominated the third set, losing only five points in total, none on her serve, and won the match 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.
