On April 1, Catherine Joy Nkune gave birth to her third child, Jeremy Tubula, at 25 weeks, weighing a mere 400 grams. The premature birth was a result of complications that led to her being put on a two-week bed rest.

Jeremy's journey was not an easy one, but thanks to the skilled medical team at Kenyatta National Hospital, he was able to gain weight and recover. According to hospital CEO Evans Kamuri, Jeremy's good health is a testament to the hospital's capabilities.

'We are actually happy with what is happening at Kenyatta. We have been in the news for bad reasons but I can tell you there are many good things that are happening in this hospital,' said Kamuri.

Jeremy's mother, Catherine, was overjoyed to be reunited with her baby after five months of care at the hospital. Dr. Barbara Magoha, the obstetrician who led the team that delivered Jeremy and took care of his mother, gave the baby a clean bill of health, stating that he would live as a normal child.

Jeremy's story is not unique, as Kenyatta National Hospital has previously raised an underweight baby, Baby Hope Obonyo, who is now eight years old and weighing a healthy 15 kilograms.
