On August 29, 2019, IF Elfsborg confirmed the signing of Kenyan international defender Joseph Okumu through a video on their Facebook page.
Okumu, who has represented Kenya at the U20 and U23 levels, has completed his move from Real Monarchs, although the length of his contract with IF Elfsborg remains undisclosed.
