On Wednesday evening, Migori County Director of Criminal Investigation Njeru Nyaga confirmed the arrest of two lawyers, Karario Marwa and Samwel Odingo, who are being detained at Migori Police Station.
The lawyers are accused of representing farmers whose contracts for cane harvesting were allegedly breached by Sony Sugar Company without their knowledge.
They are also alleged to have used fake documents to win millions of shillings against the company, with some cases involving farmers who died several years back.
The two lawyers are set to be arraigned at the Kisii Law Courts on Thursday.
