Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has sent a strong message to President Uhuru Kenyatta, warning him to deal with corrupt officials in his government.

Speaking during the homecoming ceremony of musician Muigai Wa Njoroge in Thika on March 25, 2019, Kabogo expressed the frustrations of the Mt Kenya region, which he claimed was tired of being used as a voting block without benefiting from it.

'If Uhuru cannot arrest the corrupt leaders, he should tell us, it is his government, we shall march to their offices and arrest them ourselves,' Kabogo told the crowd.

He also criticized his successor, Ferdinand Waititu, for engaging in massive corruption, claiming that Waititu had bought three apartment blocks in Nairobi during his short tenure as Kiambu governor.

'Where did he get the money to buy three buildings in Nairobi in the short time that he has been governor?' Kabogo quipped.

As a key figure in the Mt Kenya region, Kabogo has distanced himself from the Tanga Tanga brigade, which has been drumming up support for William Ruto.
