Kenya's smartphone market has witnessed a significant shift in recent years, with several brands vying for market share. Among these, Oppo has managed to carve a niche for itself, particularly with its budget-friendly devices. However, the company's latest flagship, the Oppo Find X, has taken a different approach, boasting a full-screen design that obsoletes the top bezel with its sliding mechanism to reveal the selfie camera.
But what's even more interesting is that the Find X not only slides to reveal the front camera, but also the main camera. This leaves the back panel of the device without blemish for the most part, especially since the fingerprint scanner is MIA. Instead, you get 3D Face ID for authentication purposes.
However, this innovative design comes at a price, with the Oppo Find X setting you back nearly Kshs 100,000. This is a significant amount, especially considering that Oppo is a brand synonymous with budget devices in the country.
For those who have managed to grab the Oppo Find X, you may have already received a new software update installing the latest Android security patch for the month of August 2019. The update is arriving over the air as version CPH1871EX_11_A.17 and has been available for download since early last week.
For those who have yet to see the OTA, stay patient for it will arrive sooner or later. But if you can't wait, the full firmware is available for download via the link below, so be sure to grab it and install manually.
