On Wednesday, Maryanne Kitany, the estranged wife of Meru Senator Mithika Linturi, took the stand in court to air a litany of allegations against her husband.

According to Kitany, Linturi traveled to the United States in 2018, where he allegedly stole title deeds belonging to her relatives. Upon his return, he used these documents to secure loans, which they are still paying for to this day.

Kitany's testimony revealed a tumultuous marriage marked by infidelity, death threats, and stolen property. She alleged that Linturi had threatened to kill her after she brought up issues of forgery and spoiling his career.

Kitany's suspicions of Linturi's infidelity began in December 2017, when she discovered images of women half-naked and pornography on his phone. The marriage continued to be rocky, with Kitany obtaining court orders to protect herself and her family from Linturi's alleged plans to evict them from their home.

On one occasion, Linturi falsely reported to the police that there were terrorists in the house, leading to the eviction of Kitany's children, a sick relative, and her uncle.
