On August 28, 2019, a Nakuru court granted an application by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to continue holding Elvis Musonya Karambe, a suspect in the David Mwangi Wachira murder case.

The court, led by Chief Magistrate Elizabeth Osui, ordered that Karambe be held for two more weeks to allow the DCI to process MPesa statements related to the case.

According to reports, Karambe was arrested on Monday and spent the night at Railways Police Station. He was allegedly at work on August 17, 2019, the night that Wachira was murdered.

Wachira, an employee at Wachira's Biscepts Company in Industrial Area, was buried last Saturday at his Olive Inn home in Rongai.

During the burial, Nakuru West Deputy County Commissioner Elmi Shaffi revealed that police had recorded statements from various people in relation to the murder.

The case will be heard on September 10, 2019.
