On August 28, 2019, Marianne Kitany returned to court to continue her testimony in her divorce case against Meru senator Mithika Linturi.

Kitany opted for a public hearing, stating that her marriage was conducted in public and the same people should know how it is being dissolved.

During the hearing, Kitany revealed that she paid for a trip to Australia worth 11 million shillings so that the whole family could travel and bond with her son.

The family also received a house in Runda, costing 110 million shillings, with Kitany paying 30 million shillings towards the purchase.

Kitany also stated that she gave Linturi 200,000 shillings to cover his rent at some point, as he often had arrears.
