On August 28, 2019, Nation Media Group reported a 24 percent decline in net profits to KSh403 million in the first half of 2019, compared to KSh529 million in the same period in 2018.

The company attributed the weak earnings to a drop in income, which was affected by a tough business environment, currency depreciation, and reduced interest income.

Despite the decline in net earnings, Nation Media Group's digital sales experienced a 24 percent growth, highlighting the shift towards digital platforms in the news and entertainment industry.

The company maintained its KSh1.5 interim dividend payout for every ordinary share held.
