Kenyan singer Jimmy Gait has narrowly escaped a life-threatening situation after being misdiagnosed by doctors in Nairobi. The singer recently revealed that he was treated for a severe stomach infection in India, where doctors discovered that he had increased acid production in his stomach.
According to a post on his YouTube Channel, Jimmy Gait expressed his shock at how he was misdiagnosed and how it would have led to him getting stomach cancer if he had undergone a throat operation recommended by his doctor back home.
“When I contacted doctors in Nairobi for treatment, they listened to my case and gave me medication but the problem persisted. They were very transactional. They quoted very high figures for me. I could truly tell they were after money not to help me,” he said.
Jimmy Gait's doctor in India revealed that the singer had an infection and treated it, ruling out the need for a throat operation that would have permanently damaged his voice.
“The problem is because of increased acid production in the stomach. He had an infection and we treated it,” the doctor said.
Jimmy Gait is grateful to be out of danger and says he will be back in the country soon, thanking his fans for their prayers and support.
“Thank you for prayers because they change things. God turned my story around. When i was coming here i was afraid of what would happen but thank god for everything. My voice has been saved, my career and ministry has been saved and i give god all the glory,” he added.
