Former Transport and Licensing Board Chairman Hassan Ole Kamwaro has passed away after a long battle with throat cancer. He was receiving treatment in the US at the time of his death.
According to his daughter Jedida Kamwaro, the late chairman was battling Lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects the lymph nodes. He had traveled to America in search of better medical care.
It is worth noting that Kamwaro's death comes after a significant event in his career, when then-President Mwai Kibaki revoked his appointment in 2010.
