On August 16, 2019, Peter J. Ng'ang'a took his car to D.T Dobie for servicing, but it remained there for 11 days with no communication from the garage. The situation prompted him to write a witty and angry letter to the CEO, Ian Middleton, which went viral for its creative manner.
Ng'ang'a listed 11 significant events that occurred worldwide during the 11 days his car was at the D.T Dobie workshop, including the G7 summit in France, Amazon wildfires, and Trump's criticism of his Fed Reserve chairman. He humorously noted that his vehicle sat at the garage, ignored and uncared for, while the world witnessed these major events.
Ng'ang'a's letter, which included a list of the 11 events, ended with a plea to the D.T Dobie boss to 'help save a neglected vehicle' and signed off with 'Yours [no longer] patiently.'
However, on Tuesday, Ng'ang'a received a response from the D.T Dobie management, which addressed his concerns and convinced him that his car was being attended to. In a phone interview with Citizen Digital, Ng'ang'a expressed his satisfaction with the response, stating, 'The D.T Dobie M.D (Managing Director) got back to me and we had a very fruitful discussion, he confirmed to me that the car is being taken care of and I can confidently say I am very happy with the talks.'
