On Monday night, a tragic accident occurred at Mazeras, claiming the life of a pedestrian. The driver of the vehicle involved, popular TV actor Davies Mwabili, also known as Inspekta Mwala, was behind the wheel of a Toyota Axio car.
According to Kilifi County police boss Patrick Okeri, the accident occurred along the Kaloleni-Mazeras road when Mwabili's vehicle struck Samuel Mwaki, who died instantly.
Mwabili was detained at Rabai Police Station before being released on cash bail, pending further investigation.
As reported by the Star, Mwabili was on his way to Mombasa from a funeral when the accident occurred.
Fortunately, police arrived in time to prevent a potential mob attack on Mwabili.
When contacted for comment, Mwabili declined, stating,
"I have nothing to say. Police knows what happened," Mwala told the Star on phone while declining to comment more on what transpired.
