Kenyan Boxers Secure Five Medal Spots at African Games

Published on August 27, 2019, Kenyan boxers have made a strong showing at the ongoing African Games in Rabat, Morocco, with five boxers qualifying for the semi-finals.

Leading the charge is Shaffi Bakari, a stylish flyweight boxer who outclassed Champion Businge from Uganda 4-1 to secure a spot in the medal bracket.

Compatriot Cosby Ouma also qualified for the semi-finals after stopping his opponent Arena Pakela from Lesotho 3-2.

The five Kenyan boxers who have qualified for the semi-finals are Shaffi Bakari, Cosby Ouma, Boniface Mogunde, Fredrick Ramogi, and Elly Ajowi.

They will face off against top opponents in the semi-finals, including Dawit Bekele from Ethiopia, Tarik Allali from Morocco, Abdul-afeez Ayoola from Nigeria, Jeamie Kimbembi from the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Youness Baalla from Morocco.
