On Monday, Judge Martin Muya was reported missing by his wife, Haurellia Mbulwa, after his phone calls went unanswered.

According to a police report, Haurellia told police that she suspected her husband had been carjacked because he had told her he was on his way home but did not return.

However, police later found Judge Muya drunk driving in Kileleshwa, where he was arrested after his vehicle was deflated by police.

Police established that the driver was indeed Judge Martin Muya, who denied allegations that he had been carjacked.

No one was injured during the incident, and the vehicle was towed to Kilimani Police Station.

On August 27, 2019, Citizen TV reported that Judge Muya had threatened to sue the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) over his removal from office.
