On August 26, 2019, a police report was filed at Kilimani police station, exposing a judge's weekend drinking escapades.
According to the report, Haurellia Mbulwa, a 56-year-old resident of Denis Pritt in Kilimani, reported that her husband, Martin Muya, a sitting judge at Bomet High Court, had gone missing after she last spoke to him on the phone at 10 pm.
When Muya failed to show up by 4:30 am and his calls went unanswered, Mbulwa reported the matter to the police.
Her son, Benjamin Mati, monitored the movement of Muya's car, registration number KBW 503Q, and suspected it to be carjacked. The vehicle was spotted moving suspiciously in Nairobi.
Police shot at the right tyre and deflated it, forcing the vehicle to stop at Kileleshwa area. Onboard was only Muya, who was found to be very drunk.
When questioned, Muya denied being carjacked. No one was injured during the incident, and the vehicle was towed to Kilimani Police Station.
