Published on August 27, 2019, the first batch of Kenya's Tong-IL Moo-Do team arrived in Seoul, South Korea, on Monday, ready to take on the best martial artists from around the world.

According to Evans Oduor, head of delegation, the team is confident of doing well in the second edition of the Chungju World Martial Arts Championship. The second batch of athletes is set to arrive on Tuesday, ready to challenge for titles.

Kenya has a strong track record in martial arts, having won eight medals in the first edition of the championship held in Kenya in 2016. The team is looking to improve on this performance and return home with more medals.

"We've prepared well for this championship and we're ready to face any challenge from many countries featuring in the championship. We want to return home with more medals," said Oduor.

The 19 Kenyan players will compete in individual forms, individual sparring, team special techniques, and team forms categories. The team will face stiff competition from the Philippines and Iran, among other countries.
