On August 26, 2019, Linus Kaikai, a Citizen TV journalist, announced on Twitter that he had forgiven Pastor James Ng'ang'a of Neno Evangelism for death threats made against him in March 2019.
According to a clip shared on social media, Pastor Ng'ang'a apologized to Mr. Kaikai before Chief Magistrate Patricia Gichohi at the Kiambu Law Courts.
"I apologize to Mr. Kaikai if he was angered by those utterances… I am asking for your forgiveness Mr Kaikai, I did not mean it that way…" Pastor Ng'ang'a said in the clip.
Mr. Kaikai accepted the apology and tweeted, "I HAVE today forgiven Pastor James Ng'ang'a of Neno Evangelism for the threats to life he directed at me in March this year. Pastor Ng'ang'a apologized to me before Chief Magistrate Patricia Gichohi at the Kiambu Law Courts and I accepted the apology."
Earlier in March, Pastor Ng'ang'a was charged with two counts: uttering words that constituted threats to kill Linus Kaikai and using words that indicated or implied it was desirable to bring death or physical injury to the Citizen TV journalist.
He denied the charges and was released on Ksh.200,000 cash bail.
