Chipukeezy Leaves Ebru TV After Being Asked to Fire Kartelo ¶
Comedian Chipukeezy has decided to take his eponymous talk show off Ebru TV after he was asked to get rid of his popular cohost Kartelo.
According to Chipukeezy, Ebru TV reportedly asked him to terminate his contract with Kartelo, claiming that the 'Chipukeezy Show' had 'become ghetto because of many youths on the show.'
Additionally, Ebru TV wanted Chipukeezy to host politicians and corporate bosses on his show, which is the complete opposite of his mission and passion to uplift Kenyan youth.
Chipukeezy received an email from Ebru TV asking him to terminate his agreement and collaboration with Kartelo on his show, citing concerns that the show had become 'ghetto' due to the presence of many youths.
However, Chipukeezy stated that he feels his calling and mission could be the exact opposite of Ebru TV's demands, and that his passion is to lift the youth of Kenya.
Chipukeezy vowed to continue supporting Kartelo as they look to move 'Chipukeezy Show' on a different platform.
Kartelo, on the other hand, narrated his frustrations at the hands of Ebru TV, accusing the station of treating him, guests, and audience badly.
He wrote on social media, 'Our station walianza maneno Mara oooh show imeanza kuwa na ughetto, Mara oooh kartelo ata atolewe hiyo show ati wazazi hawashiki lugha yake.'
Kartelo applauded Chipukeezy for doing exactly what he did and sticking by him, saying that youths need to be given a chance.
Chipukeezy and Kartelo have announced that they will continue the show on another platform, with Kartelo expressing his gratitude to Chipukeezy for standing by him.
