On Tuesday evening, August 27, 2018, a party was held at Arks Hotel in Mlolongo, Machakos County, organized by Grace Kanamu Namulo, 40, to celebrate with her friends.

However, the celebration turned tragic when Jamal Nassul Gadafi, 39, a popular actor who co-owned the entertainment joint with Namulo, confronted her over her suggestive dancing and accepting drink offers from other men.

According to a DCI officer handling the case, Gadafi aggressively inquired why Namulo was dancing with other men, which led to a heated argument between the two.

As the argument escalated, the couple left the party venue and headed towards the kitchen, where Namulo allegedly stabbed Gadafi to death.

Witnesses described the scene as 'sickening' as Gadafi fell to the ground with blood gushing out of the stab wound.

Despite Namulo's claim that she stumbled upon Gadafi writhing in pain after he fell on a kitchen knife, police took her into custody along with her teenage children, who had arrived at the scene to prevent her from being lynched.

Gadafi's elder brother and wife arrived at the scene a few minutes later and found others making frantic attempts to have him taken to hospital. They finally took him to Shalom Hospital in Mlolongo, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police have launched an investigation into the murder, and Namulo is currently being held at the police station.

Gadafi was a popular actor who had appeared in several Kenyan local drama programmes, including KBC's 'Vioja Mahakamani', KTN's 'Junior', and NTV's 'Auntie Boss'.
