Netflix's investment in African film has been yielding impressive results since 2018, with the streaming giant adding numerous Nigerian movies to its platform.
Among the recent additions are 'Chief Daddy', 'Lionheart', and 'The Wedding Party', which have been well-received by viewers.
According to FilmOne, the distributor of the three new movies, 'The Wedding Party 2', 'King Of Boys', and 'Merry Men' will soon be available on Netflix.
These films are notable for their commercial success, with 'The Wedding Party 2' being the highest-grossing Nigerian film of all time, earning N512 million in 2017.
Directed by Niyi Akinmolayan, the sequel follows characters as one of them accidentally proposes marriage, leading to a disastrous traditional engagement ceremony and a wedding in Dubai.
'King Of Boys', a 2018 political thriller, tells the story of Alhaja Eniola Salami, a businesswoman with growing political ambitions, and grossed N231 million, making it the fourth highest-earning Nigerian movie of all time.
Set in Abuja, 'Merry Men' follows four rich men who seduce powerful women, steal from the rich, and give to the poor, earning N230 million and becoming the fifth highest-grossing Nigerian film.
