On August 26, 2019, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced the appointment of Tobias Rasmussen as the new Kenya Resident Representative.

Rasmussen brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as the IMF's senior economist in the Middle East and Central Asia Department, where he was mission chief for Oman.

With over 18 years of experience at the IMF, Rasmussen has worked in various departments, including the Western Hemisphere and Asia-Pacific departments, since joining the organization in 2001.
