On Sunday, August 25th, 2019, Sahib Omar made history by clinching the top spot in the KCB Autocross Championship held at the scenic Batian View in Nanyuki. The event drew in hundreds of enthusiastic fans who gathered to witness the thrilling competition.
With a blistering time of 01:53:99 in heat four, Sahib Omar secured the fastest time of the day, ultimately clocking a total time of 05:46:28. His closest rival, Ken Nteere, trailed behind with a time of 06:03:00.
The competition also saw other notable winners, including Kunal Patele, who took the top spot in the 2wd turbo category with a time of 05:48:33. Zameer Verjee emerged victorious in the 2wd non-turbo category, while Yuvraj Rajput claimed the bambino class title.
George Kiarie, the Nanyuki Branch Manager of KCB Bank Kenya, praised the competitors for their exceptional performance, saying, "As KCB Bank, we are proud of our motorsport sponsorship over the years. I wish the competitors all the best in the remaining two outings."
The next KCB Auto X Round 9 is scheduled to take place in Kasarani on September 15th, 2019.
