On Saturday night, a 48-year-old woman in Rang'wa Location, Suba Sub County, Homa Bay, was brutally gang-raped by a group of men who took advantage of her by masquerading as population census officials.

According to eyewitnesses, the suspects broke into the woman's house after she initially declined to open the door, suspecting they were not census officials.

The gang then proceeded to rape the woman, one after the other, while also stealing her mobile phone and Sh2000 cash.

Fortunately, the woman was later rescued by her village mates and taken to Suba Sub County hospital, before being transferred to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital for further treatment.

Suba Sub County Police Commander Richard Cheruiyot confirmed that three suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident and are being held at Magunga Police Station for further investigations.

Cheruiyot assured the public that the suspects will face charges in court and warned residents against violating the rights of others, stating that they will face punitive legal measures if they do so.
