On August 26, 2019, Pastor James Ng'ang'a appeared before Magistrate Patriciah Gichohi at the Kiambu courts to apologise to Citizen TV's Linus Kaikai for threatening his life in March 2019.

Ng'ang'a's apology was accepted by the Strategy and Innovations Director at Royal Media Services, who was present in court.

Ng'ang'a had previously threatened Kaikai's life after the journalist made a comment about rogue pastors in an editorial during the News Gang programme on Citizen TV.

‘Your honour, if Mr Kaikai was angered by that issue, I have apologised to him. I am sorry for that,' Ng'ang'a said in a video shared by Kaikai on his Twitter page.

Linus Kaikai had filed a complaint with the DCI after Ng'ang'a directed threats to him in a video shared on social media.

Ng'ang'a had said in the video, ‘Young man, stop your nonsense. If you’ve decided to cross Pastor Ng’ang’a’s line, my friend you will face the consequences. You will have to run.'
