Kenya Revenue Authority commissioner General John Njiraini is facing arrest in a crackdown on fraudsters behind a tax evasion ring that has robbed the authority billions of shillings in uncollected tax.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss George Kinoti, his team is working to unearth the deadly racket that involves high-profile individuals in the country.
Former commissioners Julius Musyoki, Wairimu Nga'nga, and Benson Korongo are also facing arrest alongside Njiriani.
It has been established that Njiriani was being considered for the position of chairperson at the National Land Commission before learning of his pending arrest.
