On August 26, 2019, the Central Kenya Conference took a decisive step to restore order and discipline within the Maxwell Adventist church in Nairobi.
Following a series of leadership wrangles and gross misconduct, the conference excommunicated several members from the church, effectively removing their names from the church's records.
The move comes after GSU officers were called in to calm a tense situation at the church, where warring parties had openly clashed.
According to the conference, the excommunicated members had engaged in serial gross misconduct and had violated the church's doctrines, rendering them unworthy of being part of the God-abiding community.
