On August 26, 2019, the news of Ken Okoth's passing sent shockwaves across the nation, leaving a void in the Kibera constituency. In a bid to fill this gap, several aspirants have thrown their hats into the ring, with some taking rather unconventional approaches.

Reggae Deejay Kriss Darlin, who had earlier announced his intention to replace Ken Okoth, seemed to have won the hearts of many on Twitter. However, his fortunes took a turn for the worse after a video of him kneeling before Raila Odinga to seek his blessing under the ODM ticket as the new Kibera MP surfaced.

The reaction from fans has been overwhelmingly negative, with many expressing their disappointment and disgust at Kriss Darlin's actions. 'And for kneeling before man instead of God, he will never have that seat,' wrote Nash. 'Inaitwa bootlicking (We call this bootlicking),' added William.

Others have accused Kriss Darlin of being a 'pro-Raila' and 'stupid' for kneeling before a man, even if it was for his life. 'You should never kneel before a man, not even for your life,' said Kimutai. 'I'm very disappointed by Kriss and even more by Raila for not telling him to get on his feet.'

What do you think? Was it just a gesture of respect or was it too much?
