On August 26, 2019, Mary Nguli, Kitui County Finance Executive, tendered her resignation to Governor Ngilu, citing frustrations from the county executive committee.
Nguli stated in her resignation letter that she had reflected on the matter and consulted her family and friends, leading her to decide to quit her employment at the county government.
“As earlier discussed with you, the difficult working environment and my inability to convince the County Executive Committee on financial matters has made it untenable for me to complete my contractual engagement with the county government,” she wrote.
Nguli's resignation is a blow to Governor Ngilu, whose two other executives have been rejected by the MCAs.
