Census Enumerator Attacked by Dog in Homa Bay

On Saturday night, a census enumerator in Homa Bay County was attacked and bitten by a dog while conducting the census exercise in West Kamagak location, Rachuonyo.

The enumerator was bitten on the thigh by a dog belonging to his neighbor.

According to Rachuonyo South sub-county Deputy County Commissioner Mohamud Ibrahim, the incident occurred at around 10 p.m.

The enumerator was rushed to Kisii Level Five Hospital, where anti-rabies vaccines were unavailable, and was subsequently referred to a Kisumu hospital for specialized vaccination.

Fortunately, the enumerator is recovering and in a stable condition, but is unable to continue with the exercise and has been replaced by another person.
