Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has finally spoken out against the racist abuse he faced on social media after missing a decisive penalty against Wolves on August 19, 2019.
Sharing a powerful image with his son, his late father, and Martin Luther King, Pogba captioned it: 'Racist insults are ignorance and can only make me stronger and motivate me to fight for the next generation.'
His team-mates, the club, and other supporters had earlier condemned the attacks, showing their support for Pogba. Star forward Marcus Rashford led the condemnation, but he himself was targeted this weekend after missing a penalty in United's 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Some critics have directed their displeasure at social media platforms, accusing them of failing to combat racist trolls online.
