On August 25, 2019, a somber occasion turned into a heart-wrenching tragedy as two mourners lost their lives in a road accident while traveling back home from the funeral of John De Mathew.
The accident occurred in Gatunya, Gatanga, where a pickup truck collided with a saloon car in a head-on collision, resulting in the deaths of three people, including two brothers.
Five others were rushed to Thika Level 5 hospital for treatment.
