Former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri formally introduced The Service Party (TSP) during a launch event at its Nairobi headquarters on 14 Riverside Drive in Westlands.
Kiunjuri emphasized the party's nationwide structure, though he acknowledged that many regional officials could not attend due to government-imposed travel restrictions linked to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The newly registered political entity, which operates under the slogan 'Huduma-Twajiamini,' met all legal requirements for official recognition, according to Kiunjuri. The former Cabinet member, who was removed from his position by President Kenyatta earlier in the year, outlined the party's focus on grassroots engagement as a distinct political approach.
"We have listened carefully to Kenyans and made the commitment to bring forth a platform that as our name suggests, will be unequivocal about service delivery to our people," Kiunjuri stated.
The leader also outlined broader ambitions, declaring: "TSP believes Kenya will change dramatically over the next decade. We have the opportunity to pull together and ensure those changes are fair, inclusive, sustainable, and positively impact our shared destiny."
Addressing his political future, Kiunjuri rejected speculation about retirement, asserting: "Make no mistake. I am not going anywhere. I will be with you around. For any action, there will be a reaction. You keep it cool; I keep it cool."
