On August 24, 2019, Deputy President William Ruto and his family were among the first Kenyans to be counted in the 2019 census.

They were counted in the evening at their Karen home, accompanied by his wife Rachel Ruto, son Nick Ruto, and other children.

At the same time, other census officials were at the home of ODM leader Raila Odinga for the same exercise.

Nawataka wote kushirikiana nao ili kurehisisha kazi yao," Raila alisema.
