Kiambu Man Loses Wife of 26 Years to Pastor Who Presided Over His Wedding ¶
John Kanyua, a businessman from Kiambu, has been left heartbroken after his wife of 26 years, Leah Wambui, eloped with the pastor who presided over their wedding in 1993.
According to a report by Kenya News Agency (KNA), Wambui left her matrimonial home in 2015 and went to live with the pastor, who is also the chief pastor of Joy Springs Church in Juja Farm.
Wambui's parents have since offered to refund Kanyua's dowry payment, but he is not ready to hear any of that. Kanyua has continued to pay school fees for his children and even send them foodstuff from his shop.
Wangivi, the pastor's wife, strongly opposed the wedding, saying they had gone through a lot together and had even acquired a lot of property for their family.
However, Kanyua is determined to stop the wedding and has threatened to seek legal redress if the government does not intervene.
"This is unacceptable and I wouldn’t sit back and watch someone take my family. If the government does not intervene, I will choose my ways. It has taken me a lot to grow the family all those years. I will not allow the wedding to continue. I can also seek legal redress. Let her stop soiling her name and ask for forgiveness, then I will take her back," he said.
