At the CITAM church's 60th anniversary on August 24, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta delivered a stern message to those who claim to worship God but engage in political hypocrisy.

Speaking at the event, the President emphasized that it's not the amount of worship that matters, but rather how one lives in accordance with God's ways.

He urged the nation to prioritize living in God's ways, saying, 'It is not how much your worship God but how much you live in His ways. If we want to live in a great Country, let us praise & worship God but most of all let us live in His ways.'

Deputy President William Ruto has been criticized for his attempts to portray himself as a God-fearing politician, often conducting fundraisers in churches to endear himself to Christian voters.

Earlier in the month, Ruto and his wife Rachel launched a National Prayer Altar at their residence in Karen, joined by various clergy leaders.
