Published on August 24, 2019, a report filed at Tala Police Station in Machakos revealed that Annah Mutheu, a wealthy witchdoctor, claimed her life was in danger.

According to the report, Mutheu alleged that some individuals who believed she had stored Sh30 million in her house were threatening her.

She further claimed to have received phone calls from strangers demanding the cash, stating that they believed she earned at least Sh1.8 million daily.

“They have threatened to break into my house and take the said-Ksh30 million away,” Mutheu stated in her report.

However, Mutheu denied keeping such an amount of cash in her palatial residence, valued at Sh40 million.

She also disputed the claim that she earned Ksh1.8 million in a day, stating, “I also don’t earn Ksh1.8 million in a day as claimed.”

Mutheu, a mother of three, owns a fleet of luxury vehicles valued at tens of millions of shillings. In a past interview, she claimed to have inherited the craft of witchdoctoring from her parents.

Despite practicing witchcraft, Mutheu stated that she is an avid Bible reader and never misses attending church on Sundays.

It is worth noting that Mutheu was arrested in 2018 over allegations of being the leader of a Machakos car theft syndicate. Although she was later freed due to lack of evidence, the incident raises questions about her business dealings and the source of her wealth.
