Nakuru County has announced plans to build a new stadium in place of the deplorable Afraha Stadium, which has been a subject of controversy and criticism.

The decision was made after the county government conducted a feasibility study and consulted with stakeholders, including the public, to determine the best course of action.

According to sources, the new stadium will be constructed at a cost of Sh1.5 billion and is expected to be completed within the next two years.

The Afraha Stadium has been plagued by issues of poor maintenance, inadequate facilities, and safety concerns, leading to calls for its demolition and replacement.

County officials have assured the public that the new stadium will be a state-of-the-art facility that will meet international standards and provide a better experience for athletes and spectators.

The project is expected to create employment opportunities for locals and stimulate economic growth in the region.
