On August 23, 2019, Bandari FC secured their spot in the first round of the Caf Confederation Cup after defeating Al Ahly Shendi 1-1 on aggregate.

The match saw Bandari take an early lead with a 24th-minute own goal, but Al Ahly Shendi equalized in the second half.

Despite intense pressure from Bandari, Al Ahly Shendi's defense held strong, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Bandari's coach, Bernard Mwalala, made a strategic change by introducing Dan Guya in place of Danson Chetambe, which paid off as an attacking move involving William Wadri, Abdallah Hassan, and Collins Agade resulted in the opening goal.

With the win, Bandari will now face the aggregate winner between Tunisia's US Ben Guerdane and South Sudan's Amarat in the first round.
