On a tragic Friday, August 23, 2019, a 45-year-old man in Yatta Sub-County took the lives of his wife and himself in a devastating act of violence.
According to initial investigations by Yatta Sub-County police commander Joseph Karanja, the man reportedly engaged in a scuffle with his 30-year-old wife in their home, leaving her body with visible bruises.
After failing to take his own life with poison, the man proceeded to hang himself from a tree 500 meters away from their residence.
The two bodies were subsequently taken to Yatta Funeral Home for further processing, and police have launched an investigation into the tragic events.
