On August 23, 2019, Kericho County Commissioner Moses Mbaruku issued a stern warning to Kericho youths, stating that their eating time would be from 8am to 5pm the following day.
The warning was given to prevent census staff from being offered food by households, which could lead to unnecessary expenses for the enumerators.
Mr. Mbaruku assured the public of their safety and encouraged census staff to spend minimal time in each household to avoid infringing on people's personal space.
