Published on August 22, 2019, a time of great turmoil for American Jews. President Trump's rhetoric has created a political crisis, forcing Jews to choose between two parties with differing views on Israel and anti-Semitism.
On one hand, the party whose base is increasingly in thrall with newbie politicians who support the B.D.S. movement, a new face of old anti-Semitism. On the other hand, the party led by a man who is loyal to nothing but himself, who actively sets Americans against each other, and seems to thrill at creating a disunited state of America.
As Bari Weiss, an Op-Ed staff editor and writer, notes in her forthcoming book 'How to Fight Anti-Semitism,' the Jewish community is facing a predicament that would be familiar to the Jews of Babylon and Berlin. But this time, it's facing the greatest diaspora in Jewish history.
To preserve all that has ever made American Jews and America great, we cannot allow this man to tear us apart.
