August 22, 2019 - Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz has fired back at Harmonize, his former protégé, after Harmonize announced his departure from Wasafi Classic Baby record label.
Harmonize, who was once considered the number two talent at the label, has officially quit to start his own outfit, Konde Gang label.
Responding to Harmonize's decision, Diamond Platnumz said he will not force anyone to perform in any of his shows, but also made it clear that he does not value Harmonize's contributions to the label.
"Ila kama yule mwingine (Harmonize) ambae hajataka aondoke zake, kwani sisi anatusaidia na nini? (Just like that other guy [Harmonize] who did not want, he should leave, go, what is he helping us with?)" Diamond said in a caustic response.
Manager Sallam Sharaf also weighed in on the situation, stating that Harmonize had tendered a letter to terminate his contract with WCB and had removed the WCB icon from his bio, opting to write 'Wasafi for life' instead.
"We are waiting for the audit process to be complete," Sharaf said.
