Grace Adhiambo, a 22-year-old rugby player from Nakuru, played a central role in Kenya's women's team qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics through her performances in 2017. The Spotlight Academy student, who began rugby at 12, joined Nakuru RFC Academy in 2013, which provided academic and athletic support. By 2014, she was named MVP at the Prinsloo Women Sevens, and in 2015, she became the tournament's top try scorer.
Adhiambo made her international debut in 2016 at age 14 during the HSBC Women Sevens Series in France. She scored her first international try against Fiji at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and was pivotal in the 2019 Olympic qualifiers in Tunisia, where she scored four tries. Her 2017 participation in Hong Kong Sevens and Commonwealth Games qualifiers further solidified her status as a key player.
