Kenya's national census is set to take place on August 24 and 25, with the exercise extending to August 31, 2019. The purpose of the census is to gather detailed data on the country's population size and distribution, as well as living conditions and access to basic services.

As the census commences, Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i has urged football fans to remain at home and watch the English Premier League matches, rather than visiting entertainment joints. Speaking at a press briefing, Matiang'i maintained that all entertainment venues will be closed during the census period.

Many Kenyan football fans typically watch EPL matches in bars via satellite TV. However, with the census underway, Matiang'i has advised fans to watch the Liverpool vs. Arsenal game from the comfort of their own homes. He joked, 'If by this time you will not have had enough [of your beer], then I think there is something wrong with you.'
