On Wednesday, Leicester City announced that Islam Slimani, their 31-year-old Algeria forward, has sealed a season-long loan move to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.
Since joining the Midlands club from Sporting in 2016, Slimani has struggled to secure a starting spot, playing 46 games and scoring 13 goals. He also spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce and had a short loan spell at Newcastle United last year.
Notably, Slimani helped Algeria win the Africa Cup of Nations in July, and he could make his Monaco debut at home to Nimes on Sunday.
