Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has sparked speculation about his future in the sport, hinting that he may retire at the end of this season.
However, in a surprising twist, he also suggested that he could continue playing until he is 40.
Speaking to TV1, Ronaldo said, "Maybe I can leave my career next year … but I can also play up to 40 or 41."
Despite his comments, Ronaldo has shown no signs of slowing down, finishing as Juventus' top scorer last season with 21 league goals.
He has now won the domestic title in three different countries and is among the most decorated players in the game.
When asked if there were any soccer players who have more records than him, Ronaldo confidently replied, "I don't think there are any footballers who have more records than me."
With his impressive career spanning multiple clubs and numerous accolades, Ronaldo is considered among the all-time greats, often compared to Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
However, he has previously highlighted a significant difference between the two of them, citing his ability to win the Champions League with different clubs.
