On Tuesday, a tragic incident occurred in Mang'únyuli village in Sabatia, Vihiga County, where a 45-year-old man, Patrick Simwa, allegedly killed his 30-year-old brother, Evans Alumasa, in a dispute over who should prepare their meal.

According to Izava location chief Alex Ukiru, the incident happened after Evans asked Patrick to cook the food he had brought home, prompting Patrick to hit his brother on the head using a blunt object, killing him instantly.

Mr. Ukiru stated that Patrick was angered by his brother's request and told him off, saying he was not his wife. Evans then slapped Patrick, prompting him to retaliate with a fatal blow.

Patrick is currently being held at Kilingili police station as police launch investigations into the incident.

The body of the deceased was taken to Vihiga County referral hospital mortuary in Mbale.
